About Us
Welcome to Rose & Thimble, where we sew our dreams into reality (and sometimes into our aprons, but that’s a story for another day)! Founded in 2025 by the fabulous Anna Jackson right here in Manchester, we’re a local, woman-owned small business that believes crafting should be as fun as a barrel of monkeys (or at least a well-organized sewing box).
Our Story
At Rose & Thimble, every stitch tells a story.
My love for sewing began as a young girl in the Girl Scouts, where I first learned to thread a needle and sew simple pillowcases. What started as a childhood hobby quickly blossomed into a lifelong passion. Over the years, I moved from pillowcases to quilting, and eventually to crafting cosy, vintage-style handmade items that bring comfort and charm to everyday life.
Each piece I create is inspired by the warmth of tradition and the joy of making something with care and intention. Whether it's a soft pincushion, a thoughtfully designed craft apron, or a one-of-a-kind gift, Rose & Thimble is all about celebrating the beauty of handmade work.
Thank you for being part of our story. I hope my creations bring a little extra cosiness and delight to your world.
Our Promise
We’re committed to bringing you the very best of our handmade goodies. Each piece is crafted with time, love, and care to ensure top-notch quality. If something’s not quite right, just let us know — we’ll make it better, no fuss.
The Process
Every piece begins in our cosy sewing room, where the kettle’s always on and the fabric stash is ever-growing. We start with inspiration—sometimes from vintage patterns, sometimes from a walk through the garden, and occasionally from a happy accident involving a rogue button.
Once the idea takes shape, we sketch, measure, and select the perfect fabrics—always with quality and charm in mind. From there, it’s all about the details: careful cutting, precise stitching, and a sprinkle of creative magic. Whether it’s a boxy pincushion or a cosy tablet sleeve, each item is sewn with love, patience, and a touch of storytelling.
We test our designs for practicality and durability, making sure they’re not just pretty, but genuinely useful. And because we believe crafting is a conversation, we’re always open to your ideas. If there’s something you’re dreaming of and can’t find, just reach out — we’d be thrilled to stitch something special just for you.
